Although there are some nice moments, in general this is a typical 95 show. This AUD is much nicer than any of the SBDs.

We enjoyed the band coming round town, it was a seemingly short show. time flies when your'e having fun right? I have listened to countless shows and been
...
to several, in retrospect I NEVER saw a bad show. different maybe, but not bad. Today would have been Jerrys 70th birthday and I miss him, hell, I miss just knowing the boys were out there, on the road, . Thank you Jerry for all the joy you have brought into our lives, (ya'll should be more respectful of THE DEAD)

It really happened this night. This show and the 3/27 show in Atlanta are just great shows. My favorite 2 of the year. The really good news is the great

I know so many people only got to see the boys later in there tour life. This dew is only good because of Jerys soulful Doesn't matter anyway.
Other then ... that this is not the dead to me.I know I will probably hear some grief from the later year heads. Just had to comment on what I think is not good grateful dead. Yes the were good for some not me though. I am glad I saw them as many times as I did well over 400 times and from 79 to 87 was my touring years. Then the crap caught up to me . I will give the dew a 3 but the show A 1 star

Both your reviews on this website you're trolling late era dead. Your review for the 94 show isn't even close to accurate, too. Get a life

I was eager to listen to this show after reading the reviews - I've been consistently disappointed by 1995 shows and I wanted to enjoy one. This isn't

the one.Rather like witnessing a car crash where you know you shouldn't look but can't help yourself. The rest of the band may be willing but Jerry can't manage anything of interest.
The first set is almost listenable but the second set is worthless junk (no pun intended). Here Comes Sunshine has some of the worst out of tune guitar I've ever heard.Uncle Johns is a mess from start to finish.By the time Morning Dew arrives you're so numb from what's gone before that you just don't care anymore.
This is so sad. So very very sad.

reviewer said you can almost hear him smiling on Matilda. The stars lined up right this night. The stars lined up many nights in 1995 - Salt Lake City - Tampa - The Spectrum and many others.1995 gave us many gems - Alabama Getaway made it back in rotation, some beautiful versions of Visions of Johanna, many great New Speedways - Matilda - UNBROKEN CHAIN and possibly the most heartfelt So Many Roads ever at Soilder Field. Lets not forget the several incredible Morning Dews. I'm listening to UJB right now and the harmonies are beautiful ! I treasure 1995. GOD BLESS THE GRATEFUL DEAD and thanks to Bob and Phil for taking it Furthur. I was just at the 2 MSG shows and at times if you closed your eyes you got close - not quite there but you got close. THANK YOU FOR A REAL GOOD TIME.

This show was hot right from the start.
Backstory: I was 17 (hence the name) and it was spring break of my senior year of high school. While the rest ... of my class did the usual spring break to Texas, i went on Dead tour! I had heard reviews that the spring tour had some monumental moments. Unbroken Chain had been busted out. Jerry seemed to be all about his singing...The band had a thicker sound...So i said screw it, im seein Dead shows on spring break...Me n my buddy took off (from Michigan) and drove first to Tennesee (Pyramid shows) then to Alabama...and what a drive that was....
Anyhow i got into 3 of the 4 shows we went to (didnt see 1st nt at the Pyramid in Tennessee, altho still had a blast in Memphis on a Sat nite!)
This was the best of all 3. 2nd nt in Tenn opened w the loudest Shakedown St I ever heard....That show is great...What a 2nd set, and what's cool, compare the differences in HC Sunshine from that nite to this nt in Alabama...they are played SO differently and each is uniquely sweet!
1st nt Alabama had some good moments, Ramble on is the finest...terrapin is fuckin awesome (even w jerry's shortcomings on lyrics) and around n around rocks...
But tonite had it all. In all 15 shows I went to, the 3 best I saw were the ones where Jerry opened w Touch of Grey...That was his baby. His number one hit....his always crowd pleaser...his "get me in the rite mood to f'in jam!" song! Lol
he sings stagger lee beautifully..and row jimmy is as good as it gets for 95...
but the 2nd set...
HCS is great...long way blah, lol, truckin has issues, but once the jam starts, wow, the show is on fire from there...jams into twbs where jerry just belts out the line at the end, and all the reviews are rite...the guy didnt stop smilin thruout....it was so amazing...his voice was never better than this nite
jams into the best uj's band in years, for sure...and the outjam of that song is 10 stars for sure...vince just railing on piano! new found respect for the guy who cant sing for the life of him, but damn! jams that piano finally!
into matilda, at the time i had no idea what this song was, but it was still cool and the willie joinin the boys on drums...
wow i was so amazed...space brought me back...but miracle comes out and it jams too...best one i saw bobby do...
and then the morning dew...i mean i never expected anything close to how amazing this song was that nite...people say in 95 jerry was really failing on guitar, but for like 98% of this song he is damn incredible...and his voice screamin out "guess it doesnt matter, anyway!" i got so many chills when i was there...and it still brings the tears....
jerry knew he was on his way out...and i think he knew this was the best it was gonna be, so he just belts out this song...
and the crescendoes in the jam at the end to the final line that is just racked w crackling energy...i never heard a crowd at a Dead show cheer so hard...i swear it got warmer inside the arena, so many lighters went on and so much energy was being released....
Thanks Jerry for this nite, 5 outta 5 stars for sure....

This was my first show! I took four hits that day and had the time of my life and learned who I was all in the same day.
Awesome show! I didn't see any ... other shows till summer tour (when I saw the first 4)
This show is very important to me.

I remember this show!! We camped out in state park outside the city limits. I vividly remember using a portojohn outside the "stadium" and commenting
...
after using it how clean it was. Some local head heard me and said "of course it's clean, it's alabama." Cracked me up. Also remember that no one knew what time it was since we had no idea what time zone Alabama was in. Too funny. Oh, by the way, the show kicked ass. I vaguely remember Jerry staying onstage for drums, or maybe it was the night before. Shoot, maybe it was the shrooms. peace

Just another great '95 show from those washed-up losers whose - it is commonly stated - last
worthwhile show was in'93 (or '91, or '77. or '71).
A gifted ... show with very few of the usually quoted shortcomings of the era. Jerry's happiness just shines through - he's all there and really enjoying himself.
I agree with those heads who state - while acknowledging Jerry's obvious health problems -
that the Dead were starting to head in a significant new direction musically at this stage.
After digging on this, may I suggest ambling over to Tampa '95? You won't be disappointed.

After the arty weirdness of the night before, the band lets loose with what I consider Jerry's last happiest show. His obvious joy singing "That Would
...
Be Something" leads into ecstatic riffing on the Caribbean "Matilda", and the second set ends with a glorious "Morning Dew". And that doesn't even take into account "Here Comes Sunshine". The audience was blissed. I don't speak for the recording (which I am about to download), but the show was magnificent.
