--the SBD (source 1) provides the acoustic set and Me & My Uncle to the end of the show. Source 2 is from a Jack Toner AUD recording, and provides the NRPS set. The rest of the Dead's electric set is from source 3, which is also derived from the Toner AUD.
alternate tracking:
--the entire New Riders set can be placed onto one disc. The Dead's acoustic set can be placed at the beginning of what would be "d2" of this shn set, allowing the Dead's portion of the show to fit onto two discs total.
notes:
--Jerry aborts Black Peter midway, probably because of monitor problems
--from Sugar Magnolia through Drums, there are problems that cause frequent dropouts/fluctuations in recording levels, possibly from strain on the tape from movement during the concert.

--this is the earliest known Till The Morning Comes (as of Jun '03)
--tape flip at 2:11 in Till The Morning Comes
--warble at the beginning of Me & My Uncle
--small AUD patch over glitch in Dancin' at 5:06
--Tighten Up Jam in Dancin' starting at 8:40
--Sound Forge was used for normalization and minor pitch adjustments

The night I was born
What more can you say about a 1970 Dead show ? It must have been wild to be there :) Operator, as on every other copy of this date, is nearly inaudible vocally. The rest of the band is hands-down phenomenal! Listen to that 'Man's World'. What a setlist to arrive in the world to ~
I would give anything to have a complete, clean copy of this gem ! Write me:

I liked telling people I exchanged souls with Jimi, as he died this same night I was born (also on a Friday). Up the street, LZ were playing at MSG as well.

Get soundboard tracks 1-5 and the last 9 tracks.
The whole show is fantastic, unfortunately everything from "Honky Tonk Woman" to "Till the Morning Comes" is AUDIENCE QUALITY (poor)recording. You decide if you want it.
BUT definitely get the SOUNDBOARD TRACKS. Tracks 1-5, and the last 9 Tracks, ("Me and My Uncle" through "And We Bid You Goodnight".)
Eat, drink be merry and listen to THE GRATEFUL DEAD.

Ignore the quality!
Yes, folks, there may be sound problems with this AUD (the worst of which are dropouts during Candyman and the first Cryptical, which makes these two songs practically unlistenable), but you have to look beyond the surface to realize that this is indeed an awesome show.
Of course, the Other One contains great some sweaty jamming, but by far the best part of the show comes from the SBD source. I don't want to spoil the surprise, but this Dancin' is the SHIT. It's a monster and a force to be reckoned with. The jamming is just incredibly exciting; it's also interesting that Bob plays a lot of lead guitar (the same goes with the rest of the show-Jerry was VERY generous and let Bob take LOTS of solos). Just listen to him and Jerry shred it up, soloing almost in unison. It's unlike any Dancin' I've heard (and thankfully the boys don't include the overplayed two-chord proto-Eyes jam during the song). In a year of many excellent Dancins, this may be the best.
Then there's the matter of the St. Stephen>NFA>Good Lovin' segment which is probably even better. The NFA...I can't describe how good the NFA is. It's fucking exquisite and the Good Lovin, like the Dancin', has quite a lot of great leads from Bob. This very well be the best NFA ever (and that includes 2/14/70!). The Fillmore East pulled out so many great shows from the Dead that it's hard to determine which may be the finest run of shows they did there. I know a lot of 'heads will say February 1970 was the best run at the FE. Those were great shows, but for me the 9/17-9/20/70 run of shows were their finest at this great venue.
