A very focused, well played set. The part with Fogarty is all-time classic. Excellent Truckin -> Wharf Rat and very good show for 91. Good quality transfer from FM.
This is the famous spontaneous Bill Graham memorial show - "A Benefit for Laughter, Love and Music" where several hundred thousand converged on Golden Gate Park for a tribute to the legendary San Francisco promoter. It was a huge day of music with Dirty Dozen Brass Band; Bobby McFerrin; Jackson Browne; Aaron Neville; Tracy Chapman; Santana; Robin Williams; Journey; Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young; GD; Joan Baez, Graham Nash & Kris Kristofferson.
It has the only versions of "Born On The Bayou", "Green River", "Bad Moon Rising", "Proud Mary", "Forever Young" by the GD.

Subject: Great time
What did happen was one of the funnest events I'd ever been to. I think we hit Polo Field just as Tracy Chapman was finishing up, and next was Santana, during which I peaked on a natural high that can only come from dancing with the finest SF hippie girls. That Oye Como Va was one of the peak experiences of my life, actually. The weather was awesome, nice sunset.
The Dead by no means ruled the day, in my admittedly not-so-humble opinion; that honor belongs unreservedly to CSNY. But the Dead, Popper, Fogerty & Young together on stage was just an amazing historical event. Those carnations looked just like rosy tears falling out of the sky from the Otis Spunkmeyer plane during Hell in a Bucket. Brilliant, brilliant moment. And, of course, you will never hear these CCR songs done by the Dead anywhere else.
