Strong Show
Esp. the second set.
I would say one of the top 10 of 93' for sure.
Quality playing on everybody's part. Love the a'capella He's Gone jam with Phil chiming in like back in the early days.
There are some quality shows nestled in 93'. In the strangest of places if you look at it right.

PHIL ZONE
I was at this show seated in the Phil Zone and I love Phil's playing on the Other One. The next night was once of the better shows that I had seen between 90-95. Long live JERRY!!!!!

Allthough I was not there, I like that people add personal touches from their unique experiences. Sound on this show is great, but you can say that about alot of shows throughout the ages. Especially like this version of desolation row.
St Stephen 11 - the Obama rally with the remaining members show at psu was great, better than anything from just ratdog this fall tour. Its on archieves if you havent re-heard it yet. Deadstar - I hear ya about "getting it" - I've been critized for along time about my love of the dead and other jambands, too bad for them, they are all missing out.
peace

A show I'll always hold dear
This show marked the 1st date I had with my wife Lisa. We met the day before at a block party and it just so happened that I had an extra ticket for the Sunday night show. I, one who had seen the boys many a time taking my future wife to her 1st show. She was hooked. We did the east coast tours and summer show right up until the end, sad to say that see didn't get to see some of the classics with me....At the time I worked for a large east coast Ivy League School and the day that Jerry passed, the people I worked with made fun of how upset I had gotten, so I grabbed my favorite tapes out of my car and headed home for the night, only to find a roaring campfire, some dear friends and the boys playin over the loudspeakers that were lovingly dragged outdoors for the evening. As for that group of September Spectrum shows, I always felt that they were much tighter on September 13th. As a post note, we trucked up to State College to see the band play the Obama rally and it really brought a tear to my eye. Or as Lisa says....A bus came by and I got on, thats when it all began........

not so bad!
After discussing with my wife at length how I could listen to the same band over and over again...I explained I have 30 yrs to catch up on and that its never the same twice. She dont get it. She complains when she gets in my car she is always subjected to the dead. True. But when I explained it was only one song from here to walmart and back (20? mins..omni 94) she was really freaked. Doesnt understand a jam or how complex it can be. Or even how great the boys make it. Well I get it...all of it! Maybe she will too someday. None the less..this is a great good morning show...like a touch to open my eyes to. Even on junk speakers with weak batteries this sounds darn good. So oh yes It will make the DL list. And I say the set list isnt so bad either. A good one for a quick ride.
