Fall '94 MSG N3
Good show - mid run - from the final hurrah from fall MSG. First set Shakedown opener/Deal closer doesn't leave much room for complaints. Definitely enjoyed the fifty-three minutes from New Speedway Boogie through to the Standing on the Moon closer.

Well I don't know...
I'll never figure this band out. Been going over "the end" a lot lately and hit this one today. What a find! Listen to Jerry's work on New Speedway. I've been looking for a 90's version that comes close to the 2/19/91 breakout and this one and the RFK '95 (???) are very close. Go figure. It's as if he'd suddenly wake up. This was a nice run in '94 at MSG. Maybe the venue just made the old man wanna stand up. Check out the Loose Lucy from the first night of this run and dig how sweet that solo is! I swear to God how that man could swing! It just makes you wanna get down! This is a nice night too but suffers a bit from the night before and the first night. They do play a lot of my faves in with those clunkers (Way to Go Home)tho' and, as I'm searching through '94 for some gold I don't already have, this run has my full attention again.
Play New Speedway, children. It's time to testify!

My Last Show
This was it for me, I too recall Jerry during Standing on the Moon as a highlight. I had seen about 20 the Garden since 1987 and it always was a favorite.
I always thought my last tune would be a Brokedown Palace here, but alas I didn't make it to the closing night.
I didn't much dress the part of a deadhead anymore at that point, and some meathead got all pissed off at me when I had said I heard Willie Dixon's Little Red Rooster while driving down from upstate earlier that day. He told me it was "'Stones tune you poser", and I had to laugh. I didn't have the heart to tell him it was my 70th show.

Pretty solid, considering
for a 94 show, this isn't all that bad. i was in attendance and remember the feeling inside MSG being unlike any other venue that i had seen the dead at. such a classic venue and the boyz always played well there.
Shakedown opener is pretty hot, but it's on the more 'unpopular' tunes that the band really starts to click. was never really a fan of rooster, but from stagger lee throught deal, the first set smokes. take a listen to the brief but searing solo by Jerry in Candyman. a scorcher.
second set kind of slows down a bit, but at least we get two jerry songs. the SOTM is a virtual tear-jerker, it being towards the end and all :(
all in all, this show grabs a low-end 4 star rating, the clincher being the ending of SOTM.
worth a listen if you're in a 1994 kinda mood

Standing on TOP of the Moon
Jerry's singing on "Standing on the Moon" reminds me of the end-of-lyric phrasing of "So Many Roads" at the final Chigago show. Beautifully emotive! Here Comes Sunshine is wonderful as well The second set show titles on the streaming mp3 do not seem to be matched up with the songs, but perhaps this is my computer issue. Sound quailty is great. Thanks for letting the streaming continue.
