Poor Peter
This is one very good show. The sounds is as crisp as a fall mcintosh apple. 1/2 Step to get things cooking. Then a scorcing Rooster, the Queen Jane as the medicine started to kick in.
China/Rider "wish I was a headlight" Truckin>short Smokestack>D/S
Killer version of old Black Peter, not at the keys anymore...
Screaming twisitng Sugar Magnolia to get our bones shakin and a U.S. Blues encore to remind us of summers passing.
9/4 is hot also.

My last Grateful Dead show!
I had a great time at both this show and the night before. I thought both shows were excellent. The He's Gone was gospel-like.
For some odd reason, we had our third night tickets with us. The following was completely unplanned and extremely unexpected. At the end of this show, my wife and I looked at each other, asked each other, "You done?" and sold our last night. We ended our years of seeing this most amazing band with two great evenings!

High Time
I recall waiting for the usher to tear my ticket as the crowd howled inside as the boys took the stage; mad panic to find our seats. Two days before my birthday and only show I'm going to see before it, besides last night before it. We get to our seats, lower bowl 3rd section on Jerrys side and they open "on the day when I was born." The tabs kick in and I'm off. Rooster/Stagger Lee remind me of one of my favs from Hampton '88 and I know we are in for a great one. Short 1st set but upbeat. Second set makes me happier than I'd ever been in my life!! 1st China/Rider, Truckin, Smokestack, Black Peter, Sugar Mag/ US Blues. Sweating bullets from dancing so hard!! Great night! Two great shows back to back 9/4 and 9/5 must haves for 91.

Solid Show
I was at this show and at the time did not think that this was a great show, just a solid show. The night before had just floored me. I must say now that, after 13 years, I listen to 9/5 more than I listen to 9/4. 1st set is good, but the 2nd set is fantastic. China>Rider smokes. Ship doesn't pull the set down. The jam between Truckin and Smokestack is INTENSE! This Sugar Mags just builds and builds. Great ensemble playing.

*Fantastic show...aaaahhhhh Richfield
Although it was tough to top the night before, the 9/5 show as a crowd pleaser beginning to end. I almost prefer the audience version over the soundboard for the sole reason that it give a good appreciation for how amped the crowd was that night. 1st set highlights include a great 1/2 step opener, a nice bluesy Rooster with the crowd howling along, and a beautiful jam in Cassidy. The 2nd set China Rider blew the roof off the Coliseum and you could feel the place shake with the dancing heads. This was followed nicely by an energy charged Women R Smarter that put smiles on every face. The transition between Truckin and Smokestack Lighting made the show for me, I love the blues and so did Bob Weir that night. It seems as though I've heard "I Need a Miracle" a million times, but that night it seemed to be true, the perfect sing along with the crowd driving the band. Black Peter continued with more blues and a wicked Garcia guitar solo that segued into Sugar Mags. Sure, I love this show because I was there, but try and sit still while listening to these recordings, I cant happen.

Pedestrian '91
Nothing great but nothing bad either, average for '91. Sound quality is OK but seems to be missing the bottom end especially Phil.
Well played but short 1st set. 2nd set has the tunes but is not really jammed out. Go download the 1st night or last of this run before even considering this show.
