stumbled upon this late '82
Yowza! The china-rider is something to behold. Mercy, Mercy me. My two yr old and I were dancin like mad to this one. The energy is super high throughout the show. The boys visited the cola bar before this one!

Mix Heavy on Drums
Although I like the set list and the energy of the show. The quality is a bit tinny (as mentioned in a previous review). I can hear all of the drumstick hits, but the other instruments are somewhat muddled.
Stream, enjoy, and move on.

Hot Far From Me!
Man, does Brent lay it down on this version of Far From Me. The China>Rider is everything that the reviewer below says it is...and more. The transition is perfectly electric!
Eyes is unique with some very articulate work from Jerry.
However, I disagree on the quality of the SBD. The sound is kinda tinny and all the levels are low.
There are far better sounding shows on the archive...but its still certainly worth the listen and potentially the D.L.
At first I gave three stars...but then it kinda grew on me.

Rare Find!
This show is a night where the boys are "on" all night long. What I think is special about this show is that it is one of the first 5 "touch o greys". The "new song"
Sound quality is high quality classic A sbd.
The show is not a standard list, which is nice. Touch was new, "far from me' had become an early 80's mainstay and Throwning stones was new. The Day Job encore is no slouch either: not one of my favorite tunes perosnally, but every time it comes on I must admit, it rocks. Jerry goes off.
Finally the first set closer, China>Rider is smokin. The tandem was played 19 times in '82 and at least 15 times per year from '79-'82 but it was shelved from '74 to '79 (played once in 12.29.77)
This show still has the energy of a set of bust out old school songs as the dawn of a new age of Dead lurks quietly with the clever introductions of 'touch' and 'throwing stones' into second set material. This would set the ground work for standardized set lists, something the dead adhered to generally from 1983 to 1995, with suprises here and there of course, like the help>slip>fire of Boston in '91.
This show really does rock and I suggest it whole heartedly. Touch of grey is sweet. Enjoy, I know I will. Great sound quality
