To Lay Me Down
The last “To Lay Me Down” I saw live, the last Mydland version and the first one on 1990. Very good version and it is a reason to download this show. The MIDI flute solo is precious and the “To Tell Sweet Lies” line is just exactly perfect. These three nights in Atlanta were amazing, a lot of amazing versions for sure, with some of the best sounding SBD’s out there since all were recorded in multi-track for Without A Net, there is a real spaciousness to the sound, fully enveloping you. Give the entire 3-night run a listen.

Glorious Spring '90 Tour
I saw the Cap Center shows on this tour and they were a powerful harbinger of the great shows that would continue all the way through Atlanta (and technically started in Oakland in Feb.). I think this tour is arguably the best and most consistent from the band since May of 1977. They had recorded Built To Last, were practiced, had controlled their MIDI explorations from the Fall of 1989 and knew they were recording the tour for a live album. All good things.
This particular show is VERY strong and the mix is excellent. Being a sucker for Garcia Hunter ballads, the Candyman, To Lay Me Down, Ship of Fools and Stella are particularly appealing in any show, but these are played exquisitely. Garcia's guitar tone and execution on the solos of the first two of these songs is unique and wondrous. The China-Cat is the one on Without a Net and I agree with other reviewers that it is overrated (but still good) for ones around this time. However, the Truckin', Sugar Mags and Baby Blue are NOT overrated and more evidence of the strength of this era. Brent is almost unspeakably hot again here. The band was never anywhere near this level again after his passing. He was sorely missed. Four stars since there are even better shows on this tour (3/15, 3/22, 3/29, for example)

Spunyin like woah
I think that because my harvest moon was in arrears and I had just taken like three spiderman 10-strips, I was tripping balls and thought Jerry had such an air of bewilderment if not just plain confusion. His playing was splendid indeed though. I went to many many shows so trust me when I say this was a GEM. No short-shorts on Bobby and that's always a let down. But his "walking blues" pulled him threw again... Thanks Jerry, still missing you everyday. Phil run in NYC coming!!!!

ChinaRiderSchmider- There is much more to this show
Frankly I do not get why the China Rider from this show gets such acclaim- Of course it is on Without a Net, but I can thinki of 5 better versions in the time period those tracks were recorded for that album. I have tried again and again but I just do not hear it.
What I do hear, though, is a terrific Ship of Fools- one of the better late versions, and perhaps on of the best Men Smart Woman Smarter right after- the rest of the 2nd set smokes, too. I will have to give the first set a listen but I wanted to alert the Ship of Fools fans to a classic.

Great sound
Another perfect gem....enjoy.I'll never forget how irritated the yuppies where when they had to interact with the deadhead parking lot scene. Some went too far passing around bumper stickers outside the CNN building. This run was less relaxed than the year before. The Omni was quite immpressive with a gapping ceiling that reminded me of HR Giger.Too bad they tore the place down.

To lay me down.
All songs played strongly for recording.

Was at all 3 of this run. So far this is the best sound-quality wise of boots ive found of this run. Do yourself a favor and grab this nugget. Very tight. I give a 5 for sound and a 4 for show.
Thank you very much to you who uploaded this show!

Blue Uni's and Several Laps Later...
A great time to be 18 and seeing my second GD show. Although, I listened to Touch of Grey while making several laps around the Omni, I eventually did find my seat, thanks to the Rex Foundation folks, or somebody, asking me if I was lost cause I had passed their table like four times looking for my seat. It appeared that I failed to notice that the seat numbers for my section were on the right hand wall, not the left. First time in the place, and not to mention I was suffering some temporary blindness, or something to that effect.
