lots of energy
great set list with a BBM opener and lots of energy throughout. The voice is stronger and the band really flies in this one. I have a bootleg vid of this show and the ole boy dips and dances during Bucket. I thought he would keel over from exhaustion after that move. As good as night 1. Download those 2 and skip night 2

Oops!
Classic screwup on BBM! Bobby must have been in two places at once that night. :-) The community DJ in me nods and cringes with understanding.

A B and B gig - The crowd left Happy and Wishing they're was a fourth.
1st Set:Do these public access earnest fund-raising baffoons have ears? ummm...Jerry's now sining and finally they get 'it.' Tad rough considering their good intentions...yes, but then they momentarily fumble with the wiring. The opener of "BBM" appeals because it fit the sequential flow of this three night stand although it's follow-up has proven to be the bigger "Chug-fest" as is also evidenced here. "Far From Me" deserves its place on every ten shows or so... why not now? Another of the 'bleh' choices, "Candyman" but it's fine. Thankfully, business (somewhat tepidly) picks up with a smooth "Uncle." Things remain cool though it does get nice and bright (late2/early3) "Mexicali." Yes, "Tennessee" fits this evening's selections perfectly though this version has more slack-jaw bite and Jerry's solo (late 6/early 7) crackles. There's plenty of energy but little novelty in this "Masterpiece." Jerry sounds feeble during an otherwise spiffy "Deal." It's all searing string-y high notes from 5 on...
2nd Set: "Hell" busts out of the gates with an intense flourish. Frankly, I have not heard a sub-par version of the rocker in months. Anyways, now that we're all alert and frenzied it'll be easy to manifest that energy into a clear sailing "Iko." A soothing paternalistic 'I've been there' guitar line story by Jerry lessens any doom and gloom memories the song brings me. I think everyone knew we were heading towards "Terrapin" territory. It's a quiet but sturdy creation. "Drums" is short tonight and kind of mellow whereas "Space" almost explodes early into a maelstrom of loose particles. Shoulder shifting during "GDTRFB." Professional but seemingly not 'personal to the band' memorable. "Miracle" is a nice little sing-along. The band's now on solid but uninspirational footing which exudes during the "Fantasy/Hey Jude" medley. However, "Throwing" remains a dynamic beastly arena rocker. 'I've got mine, you;'ve got yours...amazing Bobby voice. Great work by Brent throughout. The evening's getting late and the deep tones invetigated by Jerry inspire (1:!0-1:30) during a hard-charging "NFA." YES! Loud chants after the worthyness.
But, we're not done as "Saturday" is oddly the apt cooling comedown after the past 20 minutes.

these shows got me hooked. still remember my young mind getting good and bent during LLR, I was bedazzled and addicted to good GD from then on. Strong show, as is night 1, which I would say is best of spring 88. night 2 is no slouch either. love the whole run. still looking for soundboards of worchester 87. cheers archive. love it.

this was a wild show
came with a group of about 30 guys and we all descended on an irish bar right outside after the show and a guy that just got paroled bought us a pitcher and began chomping on a long kneck bottle while we were all dosed in what turned out to be the last show they played at the centrum - on the drive back to boston I remember the MIT radio station had recordings of frogs that had been digitally slowed down and sped up we stumbled onto and laughed our nuts off...

Overlooked Gem
Although this setlist is not nearly as strong as the first night's, this was a smokin' show nonetheless. Jerry was ON - especially in the second set. His vocals and playing were soulful, yet upbeat and clean. He was all smiles that night.
