The finale jam that featured the entire Grateful Dead, along with Huey Lewis and the News; Phil Lesh and Mario Cipollina on bass, Bob Weir (in tuxedo), Jerry Garcia (wearing a brown sport coat over his traditional black tee) and Chris Hayes on guitars, Billy Kreutzmann, Mickey Hart and Billy Gibson on drums, Johnny Colla on sax, Brent Mydland and Merl Saunders (who were seated at the same organ), and Sean Hopper on keyboards.

Subject: jer
The jam is fun, but listen to Jerry's two acceptance "speeches" -- humble yet eloquent in his own inimitable way. Bill Graham gives him the musician of the year award, adding to the poignancy. The cheesy awards show big-band that plays Touch of Grey after each GD award is kind of perfect in its own way, too ;)
