Zip A Dee Whoosh!
All the the place kinda show and not so's you think by the "players" set list. On it's face, players love to down load show with a set list like this - many nice jams and the sonic tibre of this show is pretty sweet. Nice '85 Board.
That said, sometime when you go so fast, the handle get get prttty loose and slip the grip a bit. Nice one to listen to if you're coming round the mountian goin FAST FAST FAST!

one fine evening
Day after my birthday, this show rocked! Lead in and version of Never Trust a Woman/Good Time Blues shows how the Dead (Brent esp.) improvised and went out on a limb...this is a jazz beat version, kind of. He got lost, but came back. Killer jams though...Typical '85 show. I had a very High Time. In answer to below about Anniversary year...YES, of course, it was the 20 Years So Far year! They had all kinds of cool shirts and stuff to that effect. Berkelely Greek started with Sgt. Peppers on the PA one day that year..."It was 20 years ago today..." in 95 they did XXX shirts with a Steely Face (meaning 30 years so far).

I seem to recall...
... that this was a rather loud show, at least where I was standing down on the floor. I went to a lot of outdoor shows in '85, so maybe coming indoors made it seem that way. I was attending with a friend who was rather tall, and I remember sort of hiding behind him so my ears wouldn't blow out. Actually, he had a ringing of the ears for a while afterwards.
I love Peggy-O, so this counts as a good one to me :-) They really came out of the box charging hard with Jack Straw, and it never seemed to let down after that.
It seems they were into some sort of 20th year anniversary thing - I actually still have a t-shirt to that effect that I bought there. But I seem to remember photos of the band's past being projected on a screen above the stage - does anyone else remember that?
Hell, we're talking over 20 years ago now - it's a wonder I can remember anything at this point! Just another good show...
Cheers,

my birthday (literally)
I wish they would have played a little better, but I was happy to find that the dead were playing pretty damn close to where I was born (Orange County) while I was being born..

liquid light shows
Remember the grateful dead before they had the great big stage and light show. These shows where advertised as the liquid light shows. very cool for the time screens on walls of the kaiser and the old style light show. Anyway I am so glad I saw them as many times as I did and came out of it with my head on straight. Back when they were a just plain and simple. Rock and Roll..........
