Richfield was my backyard venue, so I'm biased. But this show (and all the 92-94 Richfield shows) have the energy of the crowd that meant so much to me. You can really hear the Heads picking out the lyrics they like, hearing the band sing it, and then go apeshit for them. It's a beautiful thing. You have pods of fans cheering at every other lyric throughout the show. The whole time the person leading that pod is thinking, "The Band is speaking to me!"
Great stuff. So lucky to have been there.

That "Ramble on Rose" is something really special... Jerry goes up on his midi, Phil grounds things by going down... and somewhere in the middle is the magic of The Dead. Not bad for '93...

Great show, all songs are well played. Check out the riotous Ramble On and the sick jam after UJB. Amazing sound too!

Wow, this soundboard sounds great!!!! If I could only download it. I seem to remember Jerry saying something to the effect of "once were done playing it, its yours[the fans]." Anyway enough of the bad stuff. THIS SHOW ROCKS!!! I went to all three nights and had a fine time. They charge out of the gate whith a barnburning Jack Straw, the jam here builds up to a fever pich before going back to the lyrics, Jerry is red hot. One of the last TLEO is just sweet, with Jerry and Vince contributing sweet solo's. Jerrys almost acoustic tone works grate here. Great Ramble On; when Jerry sang the "take me to the leader of the band" part the crowd went bannanas. First set also has great closing combo of Black-Throated Wind into Bertha, though the Bertha sounds a little flat compared to some of the best ones I've heard. The second set opening China-Rider is a scorcher, no wonder David Gans chose it for Dead Hour. Now for the definate low point of the evening, Way to Go and Corrina. WTGH is always the same and this version is rather sloppy, Corrina can be good[3-10-93] but this version most definately isnt. The UJB is also a showcase version but its the jam after it that really stands up and grows some hair. I remember Jerry going back to his his stack and just setting tne controls for the heart of the sun, the jam goes waaaay out there before landing in Drumz. Wheel>Watchtower out of space was always a treat. The Attics that follows is a thing of perfect beauty, it will bring tears to your eyes, the petals definately all unfolded for me on this night. Hearing NFA by itself was a nice change from always hearing it with T. Stones. I was really into the G.D. Movie at the time so I was stoked on the U.S. Blues encore[my 1st].

I was lucky enough to get floor seats with my buddy Ashu about 3 weeks before the show. I had heard most of the same songs back in 92 at Richfield but the sound quality was way better this year. Phil really kicked ass this night. The opener Jack Straw was amazing, smokin hot. I thought 93 was way better than 92. We were about 15-20 rows back on Phils side and the sound at times felt like it was going to lift you off the ground. Great show...gave it four stars only because of the lack of variety from the last year. Miss seeing them terribly. Thank you Archive.org very much for what you do and making these amazing shows available to the public. Keep up the good work.

I have a pretty strong attendance bias, and I was at this one, but let me tell you... I'm having trouble understanding all the five-star ratings for this show. I would agree that the first set's pretty strong, especially TLEO through Ramble on Rose. Bertha is pretty hot too, although a little sloppy.
The second set starts nicely, with a pretty hot China->Rider, but breaks down quickly with the combo of Way to Go Home/Corrina. I just can't get into those tunes. Jerry does his best to save them (Corrina especially), but it's a wonder to me how those became second set regulars.
Attics is by far the best thing about this show. NFA is nice, but sloppy. Same with US Blues, which starts out nice, but loses steam.
Three stars for TLEO, Tom Thumb's, RoR, Bertha and Attics.

Wow. How can anyone who even was lucky enough to catch a live Grateful Dead show have any sore bones about not being able OWN their copy any show. I guess not everyone who saw it GETS it. And I guess you didn't have to see it to get it. Wow man, you actually got see one of the better shows of 1993 let alone the 1990's and hear it again too. For free? That really sucks. I guess you need to know its safe on your ipod, so you can hear Jerry again,. I bet you miss him sooo much. I bet you were really, really close. You're my favorite kind of deadhead, the self righteous, narcissist. It's people like you who make me truly proud to say I'm a Deadhead. I guess Bobby (one the guys who sucks now) was right when he said, "It's ONE in Ten Thousand that comes for the show." And Phil when he said, "Take your ball and go home." And Vince when he sang, "You think you're sayin somethin, just cause your makin a sound." And Brent when he sang, "Though you say you don't mean to be, You are so far from me." And lastly, brother Pigpen sang, "I'm gonna scare you up and shoot you. MIster Charlie told me so."

Hey Now, 1993 was a busy year for the band. As I said about the show the night earlier, this was a three day party. This being the last night. Man, it sure sounds good to me. I really enjoy Tom Thumb Blues, the crowd was lite up like a 1000w HS bulb. This was ca hot show. Jerry sounds pretty good for my ears. The band is tight. All this fun just a memory tonight, but WOW! what a memory

Just discovered this site yesterday...and the SBD streams today! First show attended...The crescendo jam in Jack Straw is truly amazing..same with Ramble On Rose. Certainly one of the higher energy shows of the 90s. I'm more than grateful for the ability to listen to this show again...and can't wait to share it with my bros who were there with me........five tabs baby!

Look man, the grateful dead don't have to provide free music to anyone. I mean I know there are other people out there who think like this, but I would say to all of them, when Jerry made that comment it was very likely just off the cuff, heartfelt no doubt, but spontaneous. I really wonder if he envisioned at the time how this digital thing was going to create the facility to copy the music. I mean what's the problem with just streaming the show anyways? get your act together and get yourself a computer. Cost you $500 bucks or less if you're resourceful. I've got some cassette tapes I've had for ages that are still good if you want a copy. Just let it go and stream the show...

that Richfield was old, run down, HOT and STUFFY, in the middle of nowhere Cleveland. My girlfriend and I only caught this night, her first show, she was all smiles...I remember Jerry just grinning from ear to ear..China Cat>Rider stood out..as did the TLEO...we got back to the Independence Holiday Inn and she was dosed so hard it took me an hout to coax her out of the bathtub....AWESOME SHOW....

This show was featured on GDH as the fall tour highlight...If I remember correctly David played Little Red Rooster and the China-> Rider.Jerry had a superb night at this one and nailed all his lyric's. The Jack Straw opener and TLEO were scorchers...Ramble On Rose tempo is so rockin' and Black Throated Wind was a real treat aswell. Every body was in a good mood which was a rare thing in the ninety's. Phil, what a monster on this night.
The second set continued with the same energy opening with China-> Rider. Uncle John's Band was stunning. When the lyric's ended Jerry turned around and walked straight back to his equipment behind him and started pushing his guitar into them and dragging his pick on the strings. It was like one of those dark jams from 73 era. He didn't turn to face the crowd again, he just walked off when drums started. The Attic's was also very nicely done and NFA was incredible, I was surprised Heart and Bill didn't break skins on this one. Sounds sooo gooood, download with out worry.
