recording levels too low
This recording not listenable, even with volume max.
Review of the performance: 4.5 Song selection outrageous, solid 9-song first set, 2 Beatles covers before drums, and a Days Between. Are you kidding me this was an excellent GD show!

Not sure about this one. Like many 1994 shows, it goes back & forth from sweet to flubby. Some good highlights, but not as shiny as many shows from the same year.

#Inspired
A buddy of mine and I drove down from the Culinary Institute in Hyde Park where we were students. Sold Vegetarian Chili in the lot. One of the chef instructors gave us a bunch of fresh baguettes and the following morning off. He was a French guy.... What is this Grateful Dead? he asked in his best French accent LOL
I'm revisiting this show right now..... What's not to Love here??!! the whole show seems inspired. Even Vince is tearing it up. TBH the deja vu just listening is giving me the chills. There's a video of the show on You Tube btw

I'm going back where I belong
This final night at Nassau had plenty of grand moments. The opener is very strong with a crowd pleasing LTGTR> Bertha>GSET. Phil is on fire for the latter two. Jerry starts off alittle tenative but really makes this Bertha a keeper. The GSET, although not as good as the one they would play in Boston in the fall, is really good. Phil is totally dominating in it.
West LA is good and Jerry snakes along through it nicely. Masterpiece is easily one of the best songs of the night. Roses is also good, a few miscues by Vince on harmonies which contribute to a couple isssues with Jerry's pacing with the song. It ends strongly. BIODTL is rare and is totally cooking. Then a late set Peggi-O which may be the highlight on the set and it is followed by a very good Music that is received estatically by the crowd and even has some missed place ooohing.
As stated below the first half of this second set is the heart of this show and everyone really sparkles. I was very happy and surprised by what they played when I was at this show.
It is clear Rain was the best, and consistingly well played, Beatle's cover the Dead would ever play. This is another great version followed by a narly Victim. Jerry turns up the volume and lays down some wicked leads. Then Phil, finally, takes the vocal helm and delivers a wonderful Box. Jerry not missing a beat jumps right into a majestic He's Gone, which is easliy one of the best they would play that year. The ending has a nice Phil and Vinny vocal duet but no long jam. Jerry being in great spirts this night next creates maybe the best version of That Would Be Something, his twangy tone really compliments this version, and then not wanting to stop delivers a well received GDTRFB, with him and Vince really gelling vocally.
The drums are excellent with Billy and Mickey keeping the high energy going from the previous song. The space lands into a stronger version of Watchtower than was typically played at this stage of the band's career and then the highlight of the evening, Days Between. Jerry really goes deep and spins a beauty here, the ending is really good with him changing the final solo to repeat the bridge solo which ends up being yet another surprise. The Lovelight seems to have Jerry on automatic pilot, but who is complaining?
The Brokedown is beautiful and strong.
This show is more twangy Jerry, especially compared to the previous night, but he does offer some sweet licks, as well as a couple sour notes here and there, and the entire band really has a ball. So did I

No good shows in 94 or 95 my ass !
This show was amazing. I was there and boy it's just as good now as it was then. This show makes you truley realize what gifted muscian Jerry Garcia was. Think about it, here's a man who would be dead in less than 1 year and he had to feel like hell by this point. Traveling alone is alot, I travel once a year and it's a pain in the ass. Now pretend you have to travel 150-200 times a year, out of shape - dying and exhausted.
Oh yeah I forgot, you have to perform for 20000 people and have your every movement watched. Jerry did this for the last couple years of his life. were there some flubbed lyrics - yes , were there some missed cues - yes , was there still magic in the air YES ! Listen to Days Between at the 6 minute and 54 second mark - unfuckenbelievable - this man was possibly one of the greatest talents ever. I LOVE JERRY AND MISS HIM. Hey kids dont do drugs and if you do try to not get to fucked up. We all lost Jerry to drugs. Thats all folks !

Pre-drums is wonderful
The last night of this five-night run at Nassau saw the band really mix up the setlist, while kicking down the raint-themed second set honoring the miserable weather outside the venue. I attended this show with my brother, and we enjoyed excellent seats for this one.
First set is enjoyable, though only the Music really stands out. After a solid Victim>Box, the ensuing Jerry triplet was quite special. He's Gone bubbles with energy and the entire crowd was genuinely suprised and elated when GDTRFB emerged pre-drums.
Post drums isn't quite as thrilling, though Days Between is nice. A nice evening with a great pre-drums second set.

An underrated show
This show has my favorite Going Down the Road. It was a lot of fun at the show itself, and in relistening, I'm struck by how twangy Jerry got on the solo. Keep in mind that it was raining a fierce, brutal, cold, driving rain on this, the final night of the Spring run in Nassau. In tribute to those who came out in such awful weather, the band did three "Rain" songs-- a nice treat. I had fun at this show, and it still sounds good (and jammy) 12 years later.

May Effect Your Ability
..To overlook 94'. This show shuttles copesthetically along as any other "good night" would, until the Second set. I dunno... This show is obscenely under-rated. I hear everyone playing with that extra-sharp, hyper-styley musical drive. As well- Jer's guitar sounds a measure more robust than most other nights this 94' tour, less twang... more bang. You won't catch yourself ever passing over the Drums/Space either, because this one is plain awesome.
Highlights> Jer, Bill and Phil's contributions to this awe-striking 2nd set. Thank you Internet Archive!!

Turn down the treble
This recording is tipped way up in the treble region, and has very little deep bass. Good clarity, but a little shrill sounding for my ears. The whole Spring 94 tour seemed to have this issue after Healy got fired (after the 3/6 AZ show) and Cutler took over. But by Summer of 94, Cutler had his sound perfect and the band sounded even better than with Healy.

barney and show tunes aside, this was an awesome show. seriously, one of the best that these guys put out in the last few years. it ain't 11-1-85, but they charged the show from rain onward. well worth the effort for the curious. days between is a masterpiece, and that beatles snippet is groovy . . .
