Users have designated the following versions as heady!
75
Casey Jones
the return this is a ripper
13
Samson and Delilah
Hands down one of my favorite shows...this is one reason
9
Jack Straw
Sick version, sick show
23
Dupree's Diamond Blues
A strong version of a song that hadn't been played in years.
50
Scarlet Begonias -> Fire On The Mountain
best kept secret of '77! groove is in the pocket, vocals are good, minimal flubs
29
Let It Grow
The most "Spanish-flavored" of LIG's, evokes old southwest almost Mariachi vibe. Brilliant Garcia changes-Rise&Fall!
12
Brown Eyed Women
Perfection firing on all cylinders: Tight band, muscular beats, beautiful vocals (Donna's on!) and that applied greatness that is the '77 Dead.
10
Deal
Bursting energy ending the 1st set in blazing glory. The shout chorus is outrageously hot. Has to be one of Donna's best nights ever.
5
Sugar Magnolia
How is this one not on here?? You think it can't get any better after the epicness of Truckin'>TOO>Wharf Rat, but then BAM they hit you with this
5
The Wheel
It's so apt that The Wheel would roll into Truckin' that the outro is short but the rest is very nice.
11
Sunrise
Garcia nails the solo
12
Playin' In The Band
I love 77 Playin's. This a cool meandering one...not tiger.
4
The Other One
Some spacy exploration before settling back into a thundering roll. Don't sleep on this one.
8
Truckin'
This packs a punch then after the drop major lick-city and nice tension with Phil as they transition into TOO
7
Wharf Rat
Great version, great second set.
7
El Paso
Practically perfect. Jerry and Keith are all over this version.
1
Johnny B. Goode
Strummin' to the rhythm that the DRUMMERS made. They're pounding their kits while the rest of the band rages behind them. Keith sounds great too.
