Damn, what a set sender. The crowd was really hyped up with drum circles and people losing their freaking minds. I was lucky enough to get tickets for

I am not too familiar yet with post 1989 shows but this Eyes is outstanding. I had to come and just post that - if you are an Eyes fan like myself - this

version is one of the best I've ever heard - not just later-era but ever. Bruce is just ridiculous - he elevates EVERYONE'S playing so much - if all Bruce-era shows are this good I'm in for a treat!

Absolutely SMOKIN' 1ST set!!!!!!!!!easily top 5 of the shows I saw with Vince(70 (+ or -))missed the Reuben & Cherise break out. Monday show was 3/5,
...
Thursday show was 4/5 and this show 5/5. The run at Albany after this was on FIRE also.(which Bruce was not at.) Don't know bout the rest of Spring tour. I think all of 91' was either hit or miss whether Bruce was with them or not. RFK that year was pretty hot!

This is one of those shows where you really had to be there. Starts off with a kick ass Stranger that just put everyone in a great mood. There was just

an amazing energy in the crowd; everyone was in a great mood. I went to a lot of shows and this one of the funnest audiences I've ever been a part of. The whole first set was just amazing, not a bad song in the lot. Even the Rooster rocked! And the Might as Well to finish things off was such a nice surprise. Second set kept the party going. Great Eyes, nice Foolish and you can never go wrong with a Sugar Mag at the end of a rocking evening. Jerry was clearly in a rocking evening; no ballads the whole night. The set list may not seem like much, but honestly this is just a fun as hell show. Enjoy!
The Eyes>Foolish is STELLAR. Great flow as the 2nd set gets rollin' towards the drumz/Space segment. For the cynics and critics of post 1990--give

this one a listen--I promise it won't bite too hard!! Sounds like everyone was feeling pretty lighthearted coming out of winter into the spring of 1991 on this evening with the Boys. !st set is not too shabby in and of itself either. Always welcome to hear a Might As Well to tie it up. In regards to Might As Well (here is a lil' trivia for those who did not realize where this great set closing number originated)----if you still have not seen the DVD "Festival Express" you MUST!!! "Might As Well" will explain itself upon viewing!!!!!!!! ENJOY!!

Might As Well
Excellent sonic experience, except, yes, glitches, and anamolies throughout. Shame too 'cause it's a lather of a performance. Take another listen to Vince
...
starting on Might As Well. Excellent. His keys come alive in MAW ending set one and picking up in set two with an absolutely flawess Eyes>Foolish>Estimated and he's gone. His playing energizes and helps the Dead turn in an overall 4.5 performance. Minus the glitches the recording would be a 5 ~ anomalies and all! Otherwise, this is a damn hot recording of a pretty damn hot-sounding show. Even "Drums" is hot. Healy adds vocal effects to the house mix during Other and it floats it into a provocative Wharf and then into a tree stump bashing Sugar, which has the band off-key and out-of-tune. I can understand how it would be hard for some to listen to this, but you...well, y'know...hint, hint. Wink, nod, wink.

show this was one of my personal favorites that I attended. The first set features many great versions-especially Stranger and Rooster. The Might as Well was a perfect capper to a very tight set. The Eyes-Foolish combo is about 32 minutes of sweetness; I had seen about 25 shows before this and had never seen an Eyes--it was worth the wait. The rest of the set is standard but solid. The '17th gets all the accolades, but song for song this show is the one that did it for me.

of it. Just a caveat before you spend your time and bandwidth downloading. A great spring 91 performance with some issues. Between the Might As Well add on after Music (first one in 216 shows), and the double Jerry powerhouse of Eyes>Foolish to open set two, there is no doubt in my mind that Jerry was in a super good mood this night. 4 to 5 star performance, 3 stars due to the previously mentioned glitches, issues and missing encore.

Landover 3-20-1991
Good show, but not one of the best of 1991. Hornsby smokes during most of the show. Good sound quality.
Nice recording. Solid show, but five stars? A fun note about the Might As Well... Jerry & Bob came together on the stage and talked for a few moments

toward the end of Music. When they walked back to their mics to finish the song, we all knew something nice was about to happen. Might As Well is such a fitting song for the resurgence of the Dead from 88-92. Worth a listen, esp. the first set.

some big highlights in the other nights (Rubin, Speedway, Stir it Up)but you must hear this show! The set list may seem unspectacular, but this was a great one. I could write a book about this show, but I won't. I will just say it was one of those nights where everything came together to make magic - the crowd was ready to groove and the band was ready to play. If you don't give this one a listen it is your loss...
