Almost Left the planet
While I acknowledge that this wasn't the greatest show or even the best show of the tour, experientially it was a whopper. Althea, Ship of Fools, Other One, and Brokedown were all standouts. It probably means more to me because of the experience than if I had just picked this show out of a pile of them. I rate it 3 out of 5, when I really would make it 3 1/2 out of five.
This review will have a recounting of a drug story, so skip it if that's not good for you. I don't do drugs anymore, but it's a part of who I am and was a part of this show. You have been warned.
Was at this show on wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too much acid that night. I knew I had taken too much when it started to hit 15 minutes after I dropped. During Althea, I noticed that I could see every single molecule in everything all at once. cracks opened in the earth and nightmarish creatues came out and roared. I knew it was a hallucinatiuon, but I was really starting to feel like maybe running around screaming while ripping all my clothes off was going to help. In front of me on the lawn, there was this little angel, a little girl who must have been about 3 or 4, at the show with her folks. she pulled on my leg and was like "Hey, you wanna see my stickers?" I looked at the father to make sure it was okay with him. He nodded (and kept an eye on me the entire time), so I sat down, and this little girl commenced to show me all her stickers and explain all of them to me. I wasn't any less high, but it was an inexorable truth that the least cool thing I could do at that moment was to freak out and scare a little girl or worse. I used every ounce of energy that was available to me (and some that wasn't) to sit there and just talk about stickers. We got to the end of Desolation row, she looked up at me and said "That's my stickers! Are you done freaking out now?" And you know what? I was. I smiled and nodded at her. She leaned forward and gave me this prism sticker that had all the colors of the rainbow shooting off of it. She turned around and the opening notes of Deal started. I was probably more high than I had ever been before or since, but I was okay because of that little angel. And I had just the best time, too.

My first relisten at last
This was only my 3rd show and due an amazing mix of shrooms and doses I left the planet for the first 5 songs of the show. It's great to finally here the first set again in it's entirety. I'll admit it isn't their finest night...probably didn't have anything left after the amazing first night. Luckily I my feet were firmly planted in the grass that night. Rooster, jam in Deal, and the So Many Roads are a treat. Listen to the night before if you want the wow factor.

Brokedown Palace
Maybe not the greatest show evar but a bad night with a 'Brokedown Palace' encore is better than a good night with an 'I Fought the Law' encore.
RIP Jerry...

I'm listening to red rooster and the jamming is sweet ,pause, the mix is crisp, vince has his groove with the rooster, short first set wtf 6 songs, so many roads is dreamy, cant understand 1 stars, Desolation row is a strong Jer solo then he slows right down then speed up again its solid. so Stranger 1.5
althea 2
red rooster 3.5
so many roads 4
desolation row 4
deal 2
all i have time for right now.

Boys collecting a check tonight. Would like to give a pass because garcia is probably wiped, but that first set is tough and the song selection in the second leaves a lot to be desired

A perfect example of why you should "drop in" for the first night at a venue.
2 out of 5 and only for the sound quality

Deer Creek 1992
The first night was a monster! It was a great show. This show without a doubt was the weakest one played at Deer Creek ever! So Many Roads, Desolation, Deal and Sugar Mags are the only highlights.

Not the best
Desolation Row and So Many Roads were the high points...the rest of the show was pathetic IMO. I left this show sensing the end was near...who woulda thought we would have 3 years left?

a shame...........
great locale, normally a great dead show..but this show has no energy whatsoever......vocals are weak at best, and very few bright spots..sound quality is good, but this is a meatball.........
