11 beats to start and then Jer absolutely rips the solo. Keith picks it up where jer leaves off.

Agree this is a remarkable version, but I can't upvote for one reason - Phil was asleep at the wheel during the transition. One of the things I look for in the transition is phil's drop of the main rif, or at least something that resembles a fire-ish riff. He's totally lost and it isn't till jerry basically plays his part for him that he wakes up and actually plays his bass. Love phil, don't get me wrong, but here his absence detracts significantly. But Brent's tropicalia in the beginning is on point.

amen @bcarter - its not the 'traditional' rif that phil drops at the beginning of the transition, but it's definitely a fire-inspired riff from Brent's right hand. IMHO he pushes the transition here, and its like @iknowyourrider said - gooey and delicious. A must listen for the S>F connoisseur.

Running the risk of repeating the same sentiment of the commenters before me, this is superb. The outro is purely haunting, has a spanish jam-playin' vibe that is classic '76 IMHO. Just when you think they're winding down, the boys run it back for another go round. It's like a feather or leaf falling, swaying back and forth in the wind, with a near perfect landing into fierce and well executed LIG.

Is it just me or has this version fallen to the bandwagon effect too? This is a fine version, sure, but not superlative or even top 3 for me. I can think of several that are more interesting with more technical and creative guitar work from Jer - 9/25/76, 7/13/76, 5/10/78 to name a few.
