This one's got it!!! Great, as far as post-pigpen goes... Supported by diehard bobby energy and robustly happy mid 80's glide.

Crowd congeals on this one. Unstoppably creative phil, they go deep into the caverns of cosmic deaad, colombian antics and deluxe goodz.

fist pumping, triumphant California jam. Chills up my arms. This shit rules
Scarlet Begonias -> Fire On The Mountain

Hot. Symphonic, restrained but rhythmically layered like a Steve Reich transition which perfectly complements the raucous song sections, full of that trademark 78 out of control, anything can happen flexibility. no one person gets off anything too crazy but check out keith coiling around stuff and Phil's lines and before long it all adds up to something incandescent.

The Other One

jazzy, streamlined afternoon at ikea of a 78 other one. PIllowy expanses of daydreams.

choice. got the motors humming for this one which is the last of 17 versions from the 80's (and only 40 from 1974 until this). maybe the lyrics were just too "on the nose" if you will for these colombia's-finest-fuelled years. Jerry sitting pretty on top of this whole show in maraschino drip.
