Terrapin Station
June 16, 1990
Shoreline Amphitheatre
this version paints a Rembrandt of the infinity of matter. Seminal. At over 30 minutes before becoming space, it is a billionaire deluxe experience of groupthink cruising through galaxies with urgent authority. magical version. I am surprised that this doesn't come up every time when talking about the best. Stands with any version.
Ramble On Rose
June 9, 1991
Buckeye Lake Music Center
they get to work on this, really amazing
Dark Star
Sept. 10, 1991
Madison Square Garden
2nd dark star jam out of drumz, sounds like Weir is playing funky or almost RHCP style midi wrist work, while the Garcia/Marsalis/Hornsby conference glides into new extrasensory meltdowns. The most amazingly unhinged stuff.
It's All Over Now Baby Blue
June 25, 1991
Sandstone Amphitheatre
perfect use of accordion. yet another poignant, powerful rendition!
Drums -> Space
June 25, 1991
Sandstone Amphitheatre
Sparse, quiet, brooding, sensitive version. exquisite comes a time melt.
