The main reasons I mention this version are the return of the Spanish Jam and then Alabama Getaway at the end. Great for 81.

This has o be the most upbeat, fast paced and downright happy Spanish Jam ever done. Quite uniqe.

Possibly the most intense middle break of any Estimated. Everything in this show is about perfect anyhow....

Spanish Jam
May 6, 1981
Nassau Coliseum

This was some jam, dancing out in the halls behind stage that night. That Deadbase guy (Scott) says it is not 'The Spanish Jam' and he's right. That's Miles Davis' Sketches of Spain' and has a differnt chord progression. This is A Spanish Jam and awesome so who cares? Oddly, the band was working on bringing SJ back - and did so the previous show in Glens Falls out of Truckin. They also brought t out in full at the end of the tour in the (less) famous Cornell show on 5-16-81. After that, they did it a number of times in the next few years.

After reading the 5 comments here, all I can say is: we live in an age where SOME folks realize they get more attention by saying outrageous things. Nobody's gonna read your review if you say Star Wars is great lol. Obviously, one of the high NIGHTS in a marvelous thirty (fifty?) year career that dare I say continues until this day....
Eyes Of The World
Dec. 31, 1990
Coliseum Arena

What did Ken Kesey say during Dark Star on 10-31-91? "In any given situation, there are always more dumb people than smart ones" voting for dead songs/shows - and listing by alledged 'experts' like The Tapers Compendium or the Archives analysis only bears this out as well. Sigh - more dying to our egos, men.
Eyes Of The World

I like the three Fall '77 shows, Nov 4-6 in Upstate NY better than the holy Spring '77 tour, although there are surely some nice shows there (although no third comings of 2-13-70 & 5-2-70 either ;) ))
Estimated Prophet
March 9, 1981
Madison Square Garden

80-81 Estimated's are the most intense and this one has a great jam in the middle as well as an extended jam afterwards that noodles for what seems an eternity with the UJB theme before running with the song itself.
