The main reasons I mention this version are the return of the Spanish Jam and then Alabama Getaway at the end. Great for 81.

He's Gone
May 6, 1981
Nassau Coliseum

I have a question for you folks bitching that he jam after is not part of He's Gone. Very fair point. But don't you consider the obviously not dark star jamming after one verse Dark Stars, circa 72-74 as part of the timing of one verse Dark Stars when obviously it is not Dark Star being played? Well? Personally, I DO pick a He's Gone specifically for the jam afterwards, not for the almost always identical body of the song and this one is the granddaddy of them all, 70's, 80's, 90's, pre- Hiatus or Post.....

Man...we were so far away that night, you could not tell how great it was! :( Sorry, got to include Rochester 9-2-80 on that list of great 80's Dews, like AT THE TOP.. Funny Miller story: My wife worked with his mother at Yale. No idea how this ever came up, but I mentioned his name one night, my wife is like, "Oh yeah, I work with his mother, Edie... She was telling about Charlie and the Dead how he.." Think I will stop right there ;) Peace to all. Enjoy the tunes...

The very best Post-Hiatus version out there after Cornell. It was heart attack shocking coming on the heels of Aiko when Aiko was still Aiko.
