Great set closer. Jerry is top notch and Brent was at his best when he behind a B3.

Excellent Cassidy with deep jam, Jerry and Brent throwing colors on the canvas.

Pretty Peggy O

Just a perfect Peggy-O. Jerry's voice is so strong and his solo is melodic, band doesn't rush and Brent has some nice textures from his keys.

New Bear's Sonic Journals release sounds AMAZING!

Goin' Down The Road Feelin' Bad

Winterland Arena

“Don’t wanna be beaten this old way…” Shorter, with just a single solo, but extremely powerful performance that could have been on Skull N Roses

really inspired playing throughout, but this is all the more special because of that wicked Slipknot! that I wish had been played with Eyes more often
China Cat Sunflower -> I Know You Rider

Portland Memorial Coliseum

I doubt a better one exists- one of the most perfection execution of the transition ever with a magical Feelin’ Groovy. still love Paris and Veneta 72, but this one does everything those two do- and more!
U.S. Blues (Wave That Flag)

i bet you ten gold dollars that you will never, ever hear another US Blues like this. Spring 78 is full of goodies- this is one of them
The Other One
Sept. 3, 1972
Folsom Field, University of Colorado

Relistening to this and noticing new things- the band breaks out into what sounds like a proto-Help On The Way around 9:50 (going by the time on DP36). Later on around 17:25 and again at 23:40 after the first verse Jerry sounds like he’s playing around with Playin’ theme. Cool stuff for sure.

Phil comes in with a sugar-sweet bass line and Bill lays down an infectiously joyful, danceable groove. great start to a great show
