Mountain Jam
July 27, 1973
Grand Prix Racecourse

Not sure what constitutes a "Mountain Jam" but this is a jam in the mountain and it's fantastic stuff. Garcia soars w/ that '73 tone, Lesh is on fire.

Real nice groove to it throughout. Garcia comes in blazing with that stanky early 80s tone at start of the short jam. Fine one.

Fun cap off to a real good Red Rocks show. Phil sounded so good in the mix this entire show.

Opens with the most insane voice crack I’ve ever heard from Garcia. Lol. Not a great performance. Phil sounds good tho

Great one all around from the whole band, capped by a brief, but punchy solo from Garcia

AND THE SHAH OF IRAN! They’re so on fire this show. Please stick around for Joan Baez to lead the Land of a Thousand Dances and Amazing Grace afterward. I got chills hearing those songs. She’s so great.
