The unsung hero of this obscure and little-heard show. Keith Moon even guests on drums!

Most pre-‘77 Scarlets sound kinda flat by comparison, but this one has a terrific bouncy energy. Jerry and Donna are both on point vocally. Always mildly unsatisfying to hear this song meander toward a full stop, but this is the best of the standalones, IMO.

To paraphrase a line from a movie, I’m not sure you could handle this shit on strong acid. Man. Not that I sure wouldn’t wish for the opportunity. If you think there’s a better NFA than this, then you haven’t heard it.

Explosive. Anyone who tries to chraracterize the dead as noodling milquetoast hippies should be strapped to a chair and played this set at full volume.

About 30 seconds in, Jerry plays a breathtaking run of notes that always makes me think of Alice falling down the rabbit hole. I’ve never come across its like in any other DS. I don’t get why people call this one “scary” or “apocalyptic.” This is the intersection of mastery and inspiration, the apotheosis of improvisational rock music, and it’s goddamn stunning.
