Fantastic show opener, meaning business straight out of the gate. Solid, swinging pulse and great keywork from Keith.

Powerfully locomotive version with lots of fun behind it.

Extra pop and stomp all over this one.

Not everyone's favorite song, but I love it. This is an uptempo, airplay-tight, and beautifully sung version. Faster than most.

Turns on a dime from the cerebral extended PiTB jam into a coal-burnin' tight jam with force and power. Hot stuff showing off their limitless range.

Really lifts off and sends you out there. Beautiful exploratory jams before the first chorus and leading into MAMU.

cgarces is right about this one. This is as solid rockin' a heady version as any. Sounds to me like it has Pig on organ and Keith on keys, which is a rare treat indeed.
Playin' In The Band

This and the one from the previous night are key transitional Playin's that show the crack in the door to the spacetime bender that it becomes throughout '72. They're both worth more than one spin, and though I think the 25th is a bit more coherent, this one has the openness and freedom that we come to associate with Playin' ever after and is probably my favorite of the two.

This is how this song should have always been played: With Jer on luscious pedal steel and Phil on beautifully harmonic backup vocals.

Gritty and soulful version. Check out Charlie Miller's cleanup for a great sound, with everyone clear and crisp in the mix.
