Sugar Magnolia

2nd ever in a triple Dark Star sandwich. Choral singing, not fully developed but part of some of the best damned Dead you'll ever hear. Believe me.

Acoustic version, beautiful and tight. Don't miss the acoustic set in the rush to the late show.

Brown Eyed Women

International Amphitheater

Energetic and tight with great harmonies and strong soloing.

Black Throated Wind

International Amphitheater

Damned strong version building up nicely to the towering triumph, "you've done better by me than I've done by you". Strong stuff.

Bursting energy ending the 1st set in blazing glory. The shout chorus is outrageously hot. Has to be one of Donna's best nights ever.

Fillmore East

An undeniably beautiful version from an outrageously beautiful acoustic set in an unbelievably face-stealingly beautiful show. Did I mention that I like it?
Morning Dew

Nice description, couldn't say it better myself. One of the best 80s Dews I know.
Drums -> Space

Interstellar undersea worlds with an occasional Persian carpet-riding caterpillars whooshing through en route to a killer Dew: Yep, that'll do nicely, thanx.
Help On The Way > Slipknot > Franklin's Tower
April 1, 1984
Marin County Veterans Auditorium

The Slipknot alone would merit an up vote, but the long, grooving Franklin's sets it in stone.

Good call hvd, and I'll check out 10.12.83 too. Sounds almost like they forgot which set they were in and were just itching to lift off into it. This one could be much higher, and it's a great example of the mid-80s sound that first got me on the bus.
