NFA can be so sweet when they dial it down. Here the voices are full of feeling, and it really feels like the big love.

Starts really muscular for a SB, just pumped full of vitamins and bursting at the seams with an almost ska or Caribbean carnival vibe to it. Once the melody is done they turn the heat down but she's still simmering away. The explorations begin and it's a great great ride. At one point Phil and Jerry are in spontaneous counterpoint. I love the stand-alones and this one is top shelf.

We used to hold signs and wear teeshirts calling for Cosmic Charlie. There was even some acid inspired shenanigans calling it a "campaign" or something. Never came back, though did it. It's just one of the mysteries.

I wouldn't call this "chill" by any standard, other than maybe the ultra-cokey early '80s versions. This is speedy and even sounds rushed to me. Check out any LIG from before the hiatus, or even after '86 for chill.
