Hard to Handle

Hot soloing and '71 levels of intensity. Listenable in spite of some tape wobble and distortion. Fun to watch H2H expanding during this era.

Headphones only very rough AUD, but one of the rare electric funky Deep Elems. Historical rarity.

Pity about the C- sound quality, because a new tape of this would show us a real corker.

Final jam in an enormous show. Just killer. Follows the one NRPS set you need to hear. Whatta world.

Through the AUD fuzz and chatter comes a beautifully rendered vocal performance. Enjoy this hidden treasure.

Peak Bobby+Donna era. This one bubbles on smoothly, slowly kicking up the intensity until it boils over in a triumph of sweet harmony.

Sweet one, if not a little bit scrambled to start.

Catches onto a powerful pulse around 7:30 in as they head to the outro. Seems like they sped up a bit from the beginning to the end, but that might just be me.

Closes out a perfect first set. The drummers are a psychic octopus of tight grooveness, Donna sounds as good as she ever did, and Jerry floats idea after idea and kisses everyone right smack on the third eye. Just brilliant monster mash from Keith too. What fun.
Scarlet Begonias

Phil swoops, Donna and Keith soar, the drummers are in perfect mindmeld and Jerry does what Jerry does. This is as fun as it gets with the great Scarlet solo pieces before she met her FTM life partner.
