Eclectic melodicism and mood shifts make this beauty at times sound like outer space, at times like a bossa sunrise on the beach. A '73 gem.

Sweet and tight. Soulful vocals and - if I'm not wrong - Phil singing harmony (???). A great show from the fall '73 tour.

Sweet version with long Jer and Bobby double solo. Hits all the '73 highs: tight, long jam, with lots of Jerry's fast-mellow and space bugs.

Bobby's neck vein-poppin vocals and Phil's full-throttle power make this a great one. Sept.'73 horns are low in the mix for a cool live/studio effect.

Steady rockin' version with beautiful outro.

"Intense mellow", "laid back intensity" or what I always refer to as "hot mellow" - that's what's on display here. (Actually "laid back intensity" is a better choice of words.) As a musician I think it comes from utter confidence in the communication that comes from deep musical connection when playing together often, and of course the collective consciousness developed over years of touring, and a not insignificant reference to acid's ability to break barriers between individual egos, exposing the collective identity, a.k.a. 'there's nothing like a Grateful Dead concert'.... In any case, this Sugar Mag is brilliant. That it forms a big part of the 2nd set and not a tack-on at the end before the encore is just brilliant. The Eyes sammy is a rare treat.

From a show that just keeps giving and giving. This jam just seems to be endlessly building and building, It's complex, thoughtful and dreamish, and the vocals are sweet sweetness.

Absolutely this. That build up is so beautiful. I'm surprised they didn't restructure the whole song to guarantee that would happen again. What a night this must have been.

Love the standalones, and this one with the new C.Miller cleanup is just brilliant. Keith is on fire, and Phil swoops and boops like a nitrous tank filled with thousands of bubbling rubber balls. The jam is thoughtful, strong, and transportive.

New Charlie Miller cleanup (from only two months ago) turns great show into a magically mixed, supremely clean snapshot of Cassidy in its infancy. Strong medicine, sparkling with brilliancy and filled with significations. Great version.
