Captures all that's great about this song. Uplifting, joyful, smile-inducing. Can't believe this one's not here yet.

Supreme version: Fast, precise and galloping. Great harmonies with Jer singing backup.

Playin' In The Band

Propulsive and moody. Melodic developments developed over 20 minutes of energetic jamming. Billy and Phil are driving throughout.

Expansive, exploritory, and spaced out in places, a nice ride and another great from Spring '73.

The Music Never Stopped
Nov. 6, 1977
Broome County Arena

Jerry plays like a man possessed.
Viola Lee Blues
July 11, 1970
Fillmore East

Needs a cleanup, but certainly beyond fathom. Serious brain melter, with experimental sections before the wild crescendo/accelerando leading to the last verse. Only one other version after this, as I guess they were leaving the psychedelic repertoire behind for other bigtime jam vehicles. Hot stuff, and the audience having their collective minds blown apart adds to the high energy. This whole show rocks, but definitely needs a cleanup!
Swing Low Sweet Chariot

Fillmore East

A precious gem, in a beautiful set full of rare beauties.
I Hear A Voice Calling

Fillmore East

Wow. That's amazing.
Sugar Magnolia
July 1, 1970
Winnipeg Fairgrounds

Not quite a Sugar Mag, and not quite a "Pick a Bail of Cotton" on which, it should now be totally evident, the former is based. Who knew? Fun and historically important. Worth a once-over, at least.
