The Other One
Dec. 10, 1971
Fox Theatre

An immortal. Very experimental, so many melodic fragments amongst the splintered cosmos - they pull a surprise out of the hat. Check it out.

Sitting on Top of the World
Dec. 10, 1971
Fox Theatre

Buried in the extraterrestrial outer reaches of an immortal TOO this emerges, brings a 'how's they do that?!' vibe then disappears back into chaos.

Truckin'
May 7, 1972
Bickershaw Festival

Smokin' hot show opener. The band is ultra tight and kick things off with force.

Black Throated Wind
Sept. 20, 1974
Palais Des Sports

Looser than 18.09.74, but more intense in its buildup and climax. Wait for it, it slow-rises then comes on like a tsunami.

China Doll
Sept. 18, 1974
Parc des Expositions

Sweet gossamer comedown nicely after the angular intensity of Eyes. Jerry's voice is smooth and lovely.

Ramble On Rose
Sept. 25, 1976
Capital Centre

There's a lot more grit and gravel in Jerry's voice on this one than on most from the era. I think he and Bobby poured on some heat to warm up at the start of this set, with the Minglewood before this one really blazing as well.
Bertha
Sept. 25, 1976
Capital Centre

The piano is really high up in the mix, especially on the archive version, almost to the point where it sounds like a totally different arrangement. Interesting... but I wouldn't call it as one of my favorites.
Help On The Way > Slipknot > Franklin's Tower
Sept. 24, 1976
William and Mary College Hall

Really special Slipknot > Drums here. On its own the Slip is amazing, but I swear that half the band is trying to go into Dancin' in the Streets, making for a really beautiful transition back out of the Drum section. It's definitely there in the alchemical mix, but 'twas not to be.
Might As Well
Sept. 24, 1976
William and Mary College Hall

Jerry sounds positively joyous. This song always brought on the good times, but this one is really worth something extra.
Eyes Of The World
March 19, 1973
Nassau Coliseum

Thank you Charlie Miller! Could you be a lurker on this site??? Yes or no, your work has given me/us 1000s of hours of pleasure. This cleanup should put this Eyes way up higher on the list, and the whole show too.
