The post space jam is an absolute skull fucker! It's one of the most spaced out segments of Dead ever. The only thing reasonable enough to say is that Phil Lesh gets abducted by aliens!

This date should be the 23rd and not the 24th. The only segment from the 24th off Two From The Vault was The Alligator > Caution > Feedback sequence. This is one of my favorite versions...pure primal Dead with that fuzzy, acid, spaced drenched guitar tone. All I ever think about are lasers out in space! Not a long jammed out rendition, but it's just got that early psychedelic Dead atmosphere to it. Gotta love Pig's eight note circus-esque riff repeated the whole song! 1968-08-23 is my favorite Dead show!

VERY Underrated version. One of the best they pulled out with a very rare feeling groovy jam > mind left body jam!!! I believe the only other time they did that was with a Star in fall '69
