set2 starts out with a bouncy BERTHA which is then followed by THE VERSION of GSET...in the jam after the 2nd verse the band winds it's way into a full-on ST STEPHEN jam...(my not-so-humble opinion is posted in that song's section for this show)...the set continues in superb fashion, getting better and better until we get into the jam between HE'S GONE and THE OTHER ONE...phil is over the fuckin top here...he steps out to do his usual '72-type solo with billy nicely adding cotrasting fills as they musically dance around each others playing until they lock into a groove (during "Drums", on the archive sbd. version, at about 2:10-in for about 10 or 11 seconds, maybe a bit longer) that is one of the thickest, deepest grooves i may have ever heard...the exception to the "phil can't be funky" rule...after this dissipates, phil frollicks for a second or 2 before cannon-balling us into THE OTHER ONE>>>ohmigod!!!!!...the rest of the set stays on par with these goings on to make for, what i feel is, one of the best WHOLE shows EVER!!!!!
Greatest Story Ever Told

just listened to this one and the Veneta version, back to back...look, i understand that most folks believe Veneta to be a better overall show (i, however, am not in that camp) but, even those folks cannot be so audibly color-blind as to think that the GSET from that show trumps this one...sorry, Venetians but it's not even close...is the GSET from Veneta even a top-5? i have no idea...however, what i DO KNOW is that it's DEFINITELY NOT #1
Comes A Time

Jer Bear attacks the solo with gentle violence (or is it violent gentleness?)...either way, it's one of the top 5 built-in-song solos i've ever heard Jerry play on any song...UN BEE LIEVABLE!!!!!!!
The Other One

basically a 35 minute one-two punch of "The Other One" -> "Dark Star"...also, the bridge from "Drums" back into "TO1" is absolutely gorgeous

William and Mary College Hall

thirty-six, YES, THIRTY-SIX (36) "dontcha let that deal go down" refrains should, in and of itself, cement this as a top-5 (AT WORST top-10) version...yet, somehow, it goes virtually unmentioned
