Boston Music Hall
Very smoking version that's a fair representation of the entire show. Great energy all night!

Brother Esau

Berkeley Community Theatre
It's just played really well. The entire show is good but nothing better than an A-. Show was heavy in my rotation in youth. A+ SBD. Nice CRS opener!

Frost Amphitheatre
Played in hyper speed and everything still sounds just exactly perfect. A great way to end a set in any era

China Cat Sunflower -> I Know You Rider
April 22, 1986
Berkeley Community Theatre
Damn! Unhealthy JG really kicks ass sometimes! Excellent bouncy >, Jer sings along in 'laid down last night.' verse - Rider is simply out for blood!

Bird Song
April 22, 1986
Berkeley Community Theatre
There's just a litte cheesy chriping synth...outside of that this Bird is jumpy, agressive, and probably cracked my top 5

Cold Rain and Snow
July 16, 1976
Orpheum Theatre
The "Walk in the sunshine!" version. Jerry's tone is near perfect, Keith is A+, Bobby makes it weird, Phil is present, Donna sounds great, the crowd is receptive and one of the more climatic endings to this song out there. This is the top dog show of summer '76 IMO
Cold Rain and Snow
Dec. 2, 1973
Music Hall
Definitely one of the cleanest, most polished versions ever played. Perfect vocals and pace.
Cold Rain and Snow
Oct. 12, 1983
Madison Square Garden
Easily best version of decade. Can't think if any that are anywhere near this level. I've heard nearly all of them from '72-'91
Jack Straw
Dec. 2, 1973
Music Hall
I gotta jump in and strongly disagree with above comment that any '73 Straw is better than post '74. The song was always fun but didn't become great until May '77 and probably peaked by 1981. I like this version but can't up vote it.
Jack Straw
Nov. 6, 1977
Broome County Arena
I've been a huge fan of this show(1/2 Step, Straw, TMNS, Stephen, Wharf Rat, NFA, Truckin') - even before I learned it was my father's first show. I agree this Straw is tighter than previous night but think 11/1/77 Detroit wins the month.
