The magic of Portland, ME. This is the last Althea that really excites me until Bruce joins in. Jerry roars,Phil is present and Weir grinds the gears

It was only fair to actually take a request instead of whoring them out. I dug it. I've neglected the 60s for too long due to most of my favorite songs stuck in the womb. Time to start rocking more '67-'69.

Grendel, I actually like Peggy O I just never have time for it. Well I have the time but just never feel like directing it towards Peggy. I'm someone who finds excessively slow versions of TLEO and FOTD to hit my sweet spot.. So it's not the mellow vibe of Peggy O that turns me off,I know a lot of people praise many versions from my beloved era '77-'79 , I don't know what the problem is.

'77-'78 are hands down the best years for about 7-8 songs. Row Jim is one of them. Although I consider Cornell '77 to be the King Jimmy it's got a mean older brother that ruins the night on 1/22/78 for crazy duel slide guitar glory. The Straw>Jimmy>TMNS to end the first set sounds way too aggressive/sadistic to be played in a city like Eugene. 4/21/78 is a great show and the Row Jimmy and TMNS is a reminder to 'second set' heads that first set songs matter

Does it make me a bad person that I usually fast forward to about 4:45 into LLR whenever I listen to it. It's the climatic dramatically conclusion to a song that programs virgin ears to prepare for a sappy snoozefest that potential lures people towards the bathroom or concession standing only to miss the sharp turn 60% into the song. That Ace is a real prankster! I don't think the band liked the song nearly as much as Bobby. 12/30/78 after the song if you listen closely you can hear Jerry say, 'Hey Bob, you started that thing off so slow man, so fucking slow man' Bobby insisted that next time he's going to play it even slower.

I just revisted this one for the first time in a few years, Unapologetic pandemonium of various musical styles.Covering the entire spectrum of emotions from withdrawn --->full blown maniacal breakdown
