Candyman
Nov. 6, 1970
Capitol Theater

This really nice early Candy Man. This one is after Truckin. The first two are sound checks, I think.

Uncle John's Band
Nov. 6, 1970
Capitol Theater

This is one of the better acoustic versions of this song. The sound quality isn't the best but the performance is spot on.

Loser
Nov. 15, 1971
The Austin Municipal Auditorium

This is a tragically overlooked version. Bobby's guitar is loud and proud. Jerry's Strat playing was as clean and twangy as it got on this song.

China Cat Sunflower -> I Know You Rider
Nov. 7, 1969
Fillmore Auditorium

The forth live performance of these 2 songs put together. It starts out a little rough, then it evolves into a well paced and played China Rider.

Cryptical Envelopment

Fillmore West

Energized, Phil drivin Cryptical, longer then its song mate tO1.

This one is a cornucopia of song quotes. The drummers are especially good ion this version.

Fillmore West

^^ Agreed. Crisp and energetic.
The Other One

Fillmore West

Yes Phil was in the "Phil zone" for this one. This version is a prime example of the 68 Dead. Pure psychedelic energy and precision. You can't discount Pigs B3 playing, more aggressive and energetic then TC, who would join the band 2 months later. Good call on the Mike Lai source DS67. It's to bad that all of the vocals are on the left channel.
Cumberland Blues
Feb. 21, 1971
Capitol Theater

Just 3 days after Mickey left the band. Single kit crispness here.
The Other One
Jan. 3, 1970
Fillmore East

^^Yes, they really deliver the goods on this one. There are so many good O1s but this one really stands out. There was something about the Fillmore East that really energized the boys!
