All of the research that I've done on this song indicates that this song was not played during this show. The earliest play lists, and personal acounts of this show, have Dark Star as the opener of this show. I think this may be the one remaning song from the Avalon show the nignt before. 10/11/69. The sound quality and mix, sound very much like the 10/12 and 10/13 shows. I believe this is a classic version and needs to be listened to. Really! DS67 or any one else, If you have any info about this source, please post it!

It' true that a good Dew show opener dictates the quality of the rest of the show. This is a really good example of a 72 Dew. The tempo and the authenticity of Jerry's vocals, and his guitar playing, are very evident here. It always surprises me when a Dead Song at this level isn't recognized as being worthy of a lot more votes. So listen and vote, my fello heads!

Coming out of a stellar D.S and O1 this one is just the right flavors, dark, sweet, sharp and bitter! This is a fantastic show overall!

Either people haven't heard this version, or, like myself, are so taken by the Dark Star that they don't even think to vote for this one. I should have though. This one is really about as good as this song gets, for my taste. It's energetic, dynamic, inventive, and brilliantly executed, especially Jerry's nimble SG playing. There are also the Heads who don't like the early stuff, their loss!

Yes Jerry's tone is stellar here. I assume its the SG. If it wasn't for the feedback problems in the intro and a slight channel separation problem with the drums, this one would be on par wit 2/28/69.
