Brokedown Palace

Capitol Theater
It's to bad that the audio quality is so bad on this one. the playing and vocal harmonies are on the money.

The Weight

Capitol Theater
The steel guitar, which I assume Jerry is playing, really helps to make this early version a good one.

Cream Puff War
March 18, 1967
Winterland Arena
This is the epidemy of the early psychedelic rock sound. I love the tone that Jerry was getting back then. Much like the other San Francisco band like the Airplane and Big Brother where getting. They must have been using Twin reverb amps back then. I was 13 years old at the time of this concert, that sound really resonates with me.

Fillmore East (Late Show)
The Fillmore East shows always seemed to have a special energy to them. This is a good example. No keys, so Bobby is up in the mix. Every one sounded good.
Dark Star
July 31, 1971
Yale Bowl, Yale University
This version moves along very well partially driven by Bobby, who's guitar you can actually hear. At about 15 min, Jerry changes gears and starts a smoking jam. every one is on the same page on this one.
Dark Star
Feb. 7, 1969
Stanley Theater
Nice early 69 version. Both Bobby and TC are audible on this one. Jerry is in good form as are the drummers. Phil is hard to hear, at least on the recording that I heard.

Rotterdam Civic Hall
I think this is 47 minutes well spent. It seamlessly travels through a variety of sounds and moods, contemplative, jazzy, uplifting and scary. Billy even takes a drum solo 13 minutes in, and it works to change the direction. This is a show that would have been best experienced live; lucky Dutch hippies.
