Wedged in a energetic psychdelic explosion, this Merle Haggard classic provides a contrast in mood and direction. Jerry's twanging it up!

Mystery Dew! I don't think this was played during this show. Listen on the Glassberg/Miller on the archive.

If you like this song. even a little bit, you have to listen to this version! For my money this is as good as this song gets!

A crisp, cooking Allligator that was somehow missed. It transitions into Drums, then a t 11, tease, jam then the 11.

Good recording. You can hear everybody. Stellar, emotive playing by Jerry. Fourth on the Heady list is about right for this version.

Family Dog at the Great Highway

^^ Great version from a great show. TC sounds particularly good on this one. Jerry's singing and playing are aptly emotional for this song. According to Heady voters, this is about the 10th best version of this song, that's about right I would say.
Morning Dew

Fillmore Auditorium

^^Agreed. The volume of Jerry's guitar could be higher and his vocal lower. Yes, at the time of this show the song was evolving from a fast paced psychedelic romp into a meaningful balad.
Dark Star

Carousel Ballroom

This is a really good 68 version. The boys aproched this song like their other psychedelic gems of the time, before the anthemic jam vehicle that it would become.

Absolutely furious. This was the Miami pop Festival; the east coast version of Monterey Pop. This was an early outing of the SG for Jerry. I see why he played only that guitar for another year.
