Great version of this song, percision and energy.

Club Agora

This is a murky recording but a solid version of DW. Jerry was laying down some nice "twangy" country licks on this one.

Not Fade Away

Fillmore East

Incredibly energetic version, Bobby is at his best on this one. This was from a Fillmore East show, how could it not have been submited.

Turn On Your Love Light

I don't claim to be the Heady Version Police, but this is way, way, to low on votes, and that's just plane wrong! Yes, Pig's doing more singing then talking. But this is an energetc instermental bomb, cyclone. Just listen!

Jerry's guitar phrasing on this version is as good as it got for this song; inventive and inspired. This is just one of the reasons this may be my favorite Dark Star, and that's saying something. If you have'nt listened to this version, or the whole show for that matter, do so now! The transition into the eleven is seemless then mind blowing! It's on Dicks Picks 26, maybe there are other options.
China Cat Sunflower -> I Know You Rider
Aug. 23, 1971
Auditorium Theatre

The Miller source was the way to go, thanks DS67. This show went from unlistenable to prestene! This China Rider was a Phil showcase for sure, as was the whole show. This one deserves more attention. I've been listening to this whole show, it's a real gem!

Clean and crip version with single kit precision. Good find, DS67!

Strand Lyceum

Pig on Organ, Jerry deliverng the most emotive lyric and everyone else doing exactly what they needed to do, makes this, arguably, the greatest version of this song.
