Great version of this song, percision and energy.

This is a murky recording but a solid version of DW. Jerry was laying down some nice "twangy" country licks on this one.

Incredibly energetic version, Bobby is at his best on this one. This was from a Fillmore East show, how could it not have been submited.

Death Don't Have No Mercy

As everyone on this site knows, there where some adequate and some very good Dead performances. Then there where the shows where they broke through to another level; often dictated by Jerry's level of energy and inventiveness. This is one of these performances! This version has no place on the low end of the votes. This is often the case with some of the early songs and shows. This was when these songs where fresh and had there place in the culture of the time. They really deserve to be listened to!

This a sonic adventure!

Classic 69 Fillmore psychedelia. This is one of the best O1s, I know that's saying something! Pure Energy by every one. Listen up!

Thanks for that info, DS67. It sounds like this has been a mystery for a long time. Have you listened to this one DS67? It sounds like the same room and mix as the 10/12 and 10/13 shows. That's what makes me think that it could be the last remnant of the lost 10/11 show. I guess we'll never know for sure. I hope more people listen to this one. It deserves a much higher ranking!

They didn't play this song very much in 68. The last time they played this song before this show was 03/30. And they only played Dew in a few shows after this Avalon run. None of those versions compare to this one in recording quality, energy level or musicianship. The best of 68 by far and one of my favorite versions!
