Great execution all around. Short but sweet.

Odd at times - kinda creepy organ coming from Pigpen.

Not a very good recording, but it gets better towards the end.

Run Run Rudolph
Dec. 4, 1971
Felt Forum, Madison Square Garden

The first time played - and it's decidedly slower than all the other versions. I could see this being someone's favorite because you get that sound from Jerry you usually find in Legion Of Mary.

I concur - tight. Blistering jam from Jerry. Keith all over it as usual. After listening to all 7 versions, I would call this the best.

Fox Theatre

Pig's all over the place with the lyrics, but what makes this version shine is the dual instrumental attack with Jerry and Keith totally ripping it. Man, that was some damn good rock & roll.

That's no accident - Keith was brilliant on this song. It shows what a great rock & roll piano player he was. Unlike some other versions, Jerry is more aggressive and puts in some nice work.

Another version with Keith playing lead and some passion from Pig at the end. How cool would it have been if they would have kept playing this all the way to the end, either as a first set closer or an encore. That would be the hippest.
