Jerry is screaming steal your face right off of your head.

Like a racehorse charging out of the gate, winning it wire to wire. I'm diggin' '82 more and more.

Promised Land
July 26, 1972
Paramount Theater

It's a Promised Land from 1972 - you should know what to expect. An uptempo rocker that's a nice listen.

Jerry's guitar soars on this one. Really good vocals, too.

Solid early version with crisp vocals and Jerry sounding good.

What a joke. 9-18-1990 blows this out of the water.
Mexicali Blues
March 9, 1993
Rosemont Horizon

Even a song like Estimated was better in the 90's than what they did in the 70's. Pretty much every song they played in the first set with Bruce Hornsby is better than every version played without him. Versions like 9-18-1990 of Promised Land are so smokin' hot that they make everything from 1972-74 sound like a glorified soundcheck.

Man, this starts off bad. And I mean bad, as in not good.
Bird Song
June 22, 1973
Pacific Coliseum

I find it unlistenable because of that thing Keith is playing and how loud it is in the mix. I can't even get 5 minutes into the song and that ear-jarring abomination makes me turn it off. By far, Sugar Magnolia is the best song from this show.
