Jerry is fired up and really belts this one out. Worth listening to both Stanger and Franklin's together. Great show but no sbd's have surfaced.

Well I well I well I can't believe this one doesn't have more votes.
Hell in a Bucket

Knickerbocker Arena

Obviously a great one, but not in the top 5 for me. Rosebud just doesn't sound as good as Tiger. Not into the midi. For a supper shreddy version try 4/9/88.
Hell in a Bucket

One of may many shows I went to in the 80's, and I shit you not, Jerry jumped at the end of this Hell In A Bucket. I've been trying to find video of this show since '87 b/c no one who wasn't there believes it. Clearly one of the best Bucket's ever. Don't miss the rip-roarin' Iko that follows.
Samson and Delilah

Uni Dome, U of Northern Iowa

Although I'm not a tremendous fan of pre-Brent Samsons, this one is ridiculous. Weir's mic craps out before the 1st verse, so they play on while the crew gets his mic back online. Garcia plays around with his guitar levels/tone, etc. for a while and it seems like this is going to be an average version at best, but at about the 3 minute mark (knowing Weir can't step on his toes) Jerry goes off on a tear like a man possessed. The rest of the band, clearly ready to rip, responds in kind and they don't drop off from there on out. Probably the best Samson I've ever heard. Try to find Dusborne's matrix (shn 123360) of the 2nd set. I usually like a straight sbd better than a matrix, but this one's a real beauty.
Playin' In The Band

Why this Playin' isn't getting more run I'll never know. One of my favorites.
