Jed As Tight Little Pop Song. Tight and snappy, enthusiasm for a new classic.

Smooth, silky, and that unique silvery June '76 Garcia sound.

Scarlet Begonias -> Fire On The Mountain
Jan. 31, 1978
Uptown Theater

Some really nice interaction in some parts and Weir does some sweet moves, I'm sorry - not buying in on this one. It has some great moments, cool pace, but it starts coming apart midway thru Scarlet and then Garcia forgets the entire 4th verse (goes right into the guitar break after the bridge) - that kind of DQs it from all-time-ness for me right there. It's shame b/c there are some beautiful parts of this one. But also some bland passages. To me, anyway.
Dancin' in the Streets
May 17, 1978
Uptown Theater

1978 is a controversial year. Even in my own head. And while May '78 isn't as transcendent as May '77, it still has some highlights. This is nice, sticky Dancin' that can stand up to many classics. Even Weir's slide doesn't dull the blade here.
The Other One
Oct. 29, 1971
Allen Theatre

A pleasant reminder that 1971 is an absolute peak Other One year.
Eyes Of The World

Baltimore Civic Center

A certain spacey elegance that's very characteristic of Eyes from this period of time. Could it really be any other way?

One of my favorite renditions! Smooth.
