Bobby tells us "it''s time for your Sunday sermon" but it's Brent that's all over this smoking version.

Not on Archive but one hell of a barnburner. Check Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EmN0mFHDH2w

Following a rare St Stephen, they're pulling out all the stops in an explosively cacophonous mid jam

Great call! Pity there's not a board available on the Archive for this show. The tape issues can make this a bit of a rough listen but it's well worth the effort.
Scarlet Begonias -> Fire On The Mountain

Been listening to this show in the car all week and it just gets better. Love Brent in the background with a repeating, muzak sort of ditty that sounds a lot like "I can see clearly now (The rain is gone)". Bobby starting the refrain on Fire a couple of verses too early then repeating it just like it's supposed to be there. This is top ten material for sure! Poke around on the versions of this show....A couple of the CM remasters aren't bad at all. If I remember right, the occasional audience roars you hear were in response to Mother Nature backing Jerry with some righteous lightning bolts.

Very tasty Franklin's. Another great show at the Greek.
Playin' In The Band

Parc des Expositions

The jam is this Playin' is seriously heady. A little Dark Starish in spots and something that sounds very Shakedownish to these ears a little after the 12:00 mark. This is some jazzed up Dead at their trippiest.

Beautiful. I was revisiting this show for the killer versions of Sugaree and Deal and when FOTD rolled around I was thinking; Man.......that's sweet, I wondered where it was sitting here. Very surprised to find it languishing in the basement.
