Flowing straight out of a fantastic 'Half-Step,' this is a goon one. It's between '71 and '72 for the best year for 'Sugar Mags' IMO...

Jerry's solo has a bit of a '73 feel on this one...that liquid, mellow intensity.

Tight, well-sung and really buzzing with energy. Keith has some great flourishes.

Hilarious intro as Bob and Jerry come in out of time with Phil. Hot one once they get going -- especially Billy, who's really 'on' at this show...

Is it just me, or does that bluesy jam at the very end sound like a precursor to "Blues For Allah" (the title track)?

Perhaps the best version. Great, underrated show despite having been officially released for a few years now...

^I'm glad you mentioned 2/13/70, Blue_Roses, as I think this show is one of the few others that has those immaculate vibes, that effortless, music-plays-the-band inertia. Likely no coincidence that like 2/13, they were allegedly tripping a little harder than usual here. There's hardly any banter between songs compared to other shows on this tour, which would usually be a minus for me, but in this case it functions to not "break the fourth wall" — I find this show has a cinematic quality to it. I also think you could argue that it's a bit like a 1970 show played in '72. Apart from PITB, the first set is decidedly not trippy, but rather like an acoustic set played electric almost...
