The last of a whopping 73 plays in 1972, and a nice one to finish with...

Perhaps not surprisingly, you can really hear the '73 sound starting to emerge here (and elsewhere in the show)...

Promised Land
Dec. 15, 1972
Long Beach Arena

Good start to a very overlooked show. This was their most common opener in '72, kicking off 32 shows, this being the last of them (opens S2 on NYE).

Good version sandwiched between HCS and the big jam suite...

Seems like this show needs more love around here...a few high vote-getters, but the whole thing rocks

Was "Promised Land" not the opener? I see it listed in all setlists, yet missing from the board...strange. Very nice "Sugaree" regardless!

Keith is very creative on this one. Great capper to an all-time great show!

Really wired version from all parties here amidst one of the best second sets (and shows) ever!

The harmonies are fantastic on this one. Not a song I'm usually a huge fan of, but I love this one!

Stunningly gorgeous. I don't think I've heard wider dynamic contrasts on any other version, nor do I think I've heard them so smoothly executed on any other...
