Phil drives the first couple of verses, pushing hard against the band’s tempo. Slide Bobby.

poignant singing from Bobby, and the whole band pours it on during the solo break. Note the drummers especially. Top notch version.

Whole show obviously needs some love on here. Just a friendly reminder.

Help On The Way > Slipknot > Franklin's Tower

It's got my vote. “Help” gets off to a fast start (almost too fast; Jerry seems a bit flummoxed when the vocals come in). Phil. “Slipknot” is good, and “Franklin’s” is great. Phil is all over this whole thing; listen to how he brings down the volume and the band grooves on it.

Should be ranked higher. Features some great melodic playing from Jerry. Keith and Jerry interact in these second solo some before Garcia starts building with his triplet sequences. Keith plays some cool stuff before the final peak. Slower and calmer than some of the later May versions, but totally in keeping with the mood of how they played the song this night.

Agree. Great version to end the first set. It’s amazing how much the audience responded to Donna singing during this run.

Keith! He tears up this entire Palladium run.
