Ending rocker, second song of the encore from an all-around great set II.

Manor Downs

In the middle of a powerful set II, and the move to Truckin' comes out sweetly from the 7/8 ending jam

Superior version. Listen and hear why.

Wharf Rat

St. Louis Arena

Surprised this isn't on here yet. At times sweet, raging, tender, and spacy.

Uncle John's Band

Encore from another great '77 show. Garcia just smiles in the verse, and the end is heavy. Encore of my favorite come-down set ending.

Big Railroad Blues

Gaelic Park

I don't know who was recording these, but Phil sounds incredible. The quality of the performance reminds me of what I love about those long Europe '72 sets when they're just playing every part of everything really well.

Phil! Also neat for the early version (?) of the lyrics.
Sugaree

Berkeley Community Theater

The thing that strikes me most about this recording is just how *great* everything sounds, Jerry and Phil's tone quality in particular. It's like they're playing in my living room.
Bird Song
Nov. 17, 1972
Century II Convention Hall

I think phayden makes a good point– the jams in Bird Song are often rather Dark Star-like, and I doubt they needed another song with jam potential in this same key (PITB, Rider, Bird Song, Dew, etc.). I'm guessing something similar happened with Here Comes Sunshine, but speak up if it was something else.
Dark Star

RFK Stadium

This is one of those serious Stars that'll put the zap on your brain in the right state.
